Bringing The 3/50 Project to your doorstep

3-50-project-logo_500px2Building on a great idea from Alison Heath at Hardwood Artisans, I’m going to be tying media pitches for outlets around the country to small business closings in their communities (think: the gift shop down the street “going dark” next weekend). Short of suddenly becoming all-seeing or finding ten more hours in the day to search community news nationwide, that means one thing.

I need to borrow your brain.

If you know of a locally owned business in your community getting ready to close, please let me know. I’ll send your local media a story pitch about The 3/50 Project and how it can help prevent more losses to their hometowns. Making this personal and relevant increases the odds exponentially of this hitting the local airwaves or newspapers.

Here’s what I need from you:

1. The name and type of the business closing
2. When they’ll be closing (if you know for sure)
3. Names of the local newspaper and radio stations (television too, if applicable)

I’ll do my level best to get The 3/50 Project in front of the right eyes, in hopes of adding a positive element to what is otherwise a heartbreaking situation.

Feel free to drop these in my email box (instead of putting them in the comments): get_info@alwaysupward.com.

Thanks, guys. Together, we can take this thing a whole lot further than just our industries.

Great idea and the 3/50 flyer gives simple yet compelling message. Several of the StationersGuild members are already handing them out to their clients and other local businesses. Happy to have written a brief Blog on the 3/50 project to get other businesses and community members on board. Sadly, many of the Chambers of Commerce just don’t get it.

Great job and thanks!
