But would your mom think it’s funny?

billboardYes, the photo above is legit. It’s really a billboard on Highway 100 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Morrie’s, the company paying for the space, is a Saab dealership that’s been around for decades. Their customer base, as a Saab dealer, is wide ranging, from late 20’s to customers well into their senior years.

Which begs the question: Would your mom think this is funny? Clever? Or a representation of an auto dealer who was more in line with frat boys than $50,000 vehicles? [click here to continue…]

cakewrecksAdmit it. We could all use a healthy dose of laughter once in a while. Thanks to the ever-wonderful Jan Brockway (Pomegranate Home & Garden in Bend, OR) for sharing this little gem:

Cakewrecks.

Honest to goodness, some of the stories will boggle your mind. I mean, c’mon. The blog’s tagline is When professional cakes go horribly, hilariously wrong.” You just know there’s good material in there.

Love this one in particular. Yet another reason we never, ever, ever took verbal orders over the phone in my storefront days.

Note: Some of the humor may be a bit ”out there.” You’ve been warned.

This may be one of the most well produced pieces I’ve seen yet about The 3/50 Project. Big high five to Fox 4 (WDAF TV) in Kansas City for the terrific coverage.

You folks in KC have had a lot of great media exposure this week, between KCUR Radio and Fox 4. Go grab a German Chocolate Concrete at Foo’s for me, then toast to your new found visibility.

Here’s to big things ahead!

newspaperIs The 3/50 Project having a positive influence on your business? On a group of businesses you’re part of?

And would you be willing to talk to the media about it?

We have a major media opportunity that needs local color. If you have a story to share (beyond customers telling you they like the concept), please comment below with an explanation of what you’ve experienced and what the impact has been on your business. We’re looking for outcome…not what you’re doing to promote the cause.

Gotta be quick, folks. This one’s time sensitive…and worth it. Believe me.

For those of you outside KCUR radio listening area (Kansas City and surrounding cities), here’s a recording of Monday’s program. It runs one hour, total. Have to admit, I love the fact callers were so committed to local brick and mortars. Go team!
