It’s not often I’ll actually utter the words “Told you so,” but folks, this is one of those times a little boasting is in order.
Anyone who’s attended a seminar of mine or hired me as a consultant has heard praises sung of InMotion Hosting. They’re based here in the U.S…everyone speaks clear English (both technically and linguistically)…they answer the phone and respond to emails in a reasonable period of time…and they’re competitively priced. Four of my websites are on their servers; all of my domain listings are in their hands.
Turns out I’m not the only one who drank the Koolaid. Web Hosting Geeks, a community of folks who dig into this stuff a lot deeper than I, have ranked InMotion as #1 on the list of Top Web Hosts for 2009. Rather than judge companies on an averaged out overall performance (which pretty much falls into everyone boasting 99.99% uptime), they put each company under a microscope to find what their specific strong suits-—and weak spots-—are. From customer service to hosting awards, it’s all factored in.
The Webhosting Geeks site is a goldmine of great info. There are independent reviews, breakdowns of the best hosts for just blogging…business class hosting…green hosting…dedicated servers…. Got a need? They have an answer. Just scroll down through the lower part of the page for the links.
Too many times, the success or failure of a website rests on the quality of its webhost. As more of you take control of your store’s sites and ecommerce accounts, you’ll need a web partner who will pick up the phone and listen, then help you out, in the beginning, in the middle, and long after you’ve been rolling along.
As for InMotion…pat yourselves on the back, folks. You’ve heard it from me before, and you’ll hear it from me again (and again and again): You guys rock.
