Well folks, we’re on a roll. Major thanks to Four Star Drug in Lincoln, Nebraksa (my old stomping grounds, no less) for bringing The 3/50 Project to the attention of their local ABC affiliate. Terrific piece, top of the hour, complete with lots of heartfelt feedback from consumers.
Hey there folks-—Heather van Breda, owner of Real Card Studio just upped the ante for vendors supporting The 3/50 Project with a verrrrry clever promotion on her blog:
So here’s the giveaway: Reply with the name of three local independent businesses you’re going to support this month. On April 30, 2009 I’ll choose from random 1 person for every 25 unique respondents (maximum of 10 prizes), and send you a free 3/50 Project shopping tote!
Think that’s tasty enough? Ah, but it’s not. Our quick-thinking letterpress maven added another layer to the contest: [click here to continue…]
Thought I’d post an update about what’s going on at The 3/50 Project website:
• I’m working with my friend and IT guru, Gregg Marshall, to find ways to better handle the enormous influx of registrations. In the meantime, I’ve posted notes in a couple of places on the site to let people know it’s taking a while to get business names on the Supporters page due to the extraordinary number of submissions, and to please be patient.
(Any help you can lend in repeating that message to the various audiences you connect with would be greatly appreciated.) [click here to continue…]
Or more, accurately, we’ve gone viral. As of midnight Monday, The 3/50 Project website has seen more than (drum roll, please) 7,500 “absolute unique visitors.” Total visits, including return trips, pop up over the 8,600 mark.*
Yeah. I did a double take too. Right before letting out a big, juicy woooooohoo!
Next stop: KARE-TV, the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis.
The 3/50 Project has been hopping here in the Twin Cities. Yesterday started with a piece on the front page of the St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper…then an interview with Minnesota Public Radio…immediately followed by taping the segment for KARE‘s 10:00 p.m. news (top of the hour, second story, thankyouverymuch). Thanks to Bill Hudson, anchor and news reporter at WCCO TV (CBS) in Minneapolis, The 3/50 Project had its television debut, airing on yesterday’s evening news. Gotta tell ya…the results have been pretty immediate, if the registrations count on the350project.org is any indication. In two words?
Welcome, Minnesota.
In the piece, Bill mentions the site only being up since Monday; for clarification, the full site went up that day, including the analytics code that tracks how many hits the site has had. From Monday morning through midnight Wednesday, more than 3,700 “absolute unique visitors” clocked in.
If we look at hits (ie, including repeat visits), well….let’s just say we were way past 4,200. Holy cow.
Those of you registered for the National Stationery Show have been receiving periodic emails advertising lower hotel rates. After receiving yet another, a friend emailed to say “I gather the advance bookings are down.” An obvious assumption…
