Next stop: KARE-TV, the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis.
The 3/50 Project has been hopping here in the Twin Cities. Yesterday started with a piece on the front page of the St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper…then an interview with Minnesota Public Radio…immediately followed by taping the segment for KARE‘s 10:00 p.m. news (top of the hour, second story, thankyouverymuch).
This morning, it was a guest spot on 107.1 FM, on location at one of my favorite garden centers, Dundee Nursery.
Guess it’s a little late to be sending the press release to local media; they found us first.
In response to those of you emailing to ask how you can get the message into your own local press, best place to start is with an email to the business editor, with a follow up phone call. If you go to the Resources page of The 3/50 Project website, you’ll find a copy of the launch press release and the flyer that can be attached to your email. There will be a new release on Monday, marking the first week that the full website has been up and running, complete with some tasty tidbits rolled in.
Those who are having the best success with local media are opening their message with a brief paragraph about a business in their community that’s either just closed, or is about to. It personalizes the message, while showing the importance of supporting local business.
We’re on an amazing roll, folks. With your help, we can keep it going.
(Of coures, I still want the Today Show…….keep on emailing them folks. After all, they have direct access to the KARE feed.)
