See? It works. KXAS-TV (NBC) in Dallas covers The 3/50 Project

in Media, Retail, The 3/50 Project

Betsy Swango and Susan Foxworth are arguably two of the most respected stationery and gift retailers in the country, both by consumers and suppliers. Their store, Write Selection, consistently ranks among the top accounts with numerous vendors; you’d be hard pressed to find retailers who are more responsible, honest, and high integrity than these two.

Yet even they have had to deal with the same bone crushing slow months everyone else has. No one is immune.

Rather than sit back and accept it, though, they’ve made some tough decisions, some savvy moves, and have taken on a “go fot it” approach to The 3/50 Project. As part of the plan, they introduced KXAS-TV (NBC) in Dallas to the Project, landing some valuable air time on the 10:00 p.m. news. They knew what to do and how to do it, first getting the TV affiliate lit up, then making it easy for a reporter to cover their story (check out my earlier posts, “Local Media and The 3/50 Project,” parts one and two).

The result? They’ve enlightened yet more consumers in their market to the importance of shopping with locally owned, brick and mortar merchants while promoting Write Selection at the same time. Sweeeet.

Hats off to Betsy and Susan for making more than thirty years while still giving it your all, day in and day out. You ladies are truly an inspiration. We’re lucky to have you.

(Now…would someone please explain when I moved to Milwaukee?)
