Something tells me this is one of those moments I’ll look back years from now, seeing it as a turning point for The 3/50 Project…. Great piece, deserving of a huge thanks to Joanna (our CNN producer) for shining the limelight this direction.

Featured father/daughter team Jim and Kelly DelRosso (owners of Semplice in Montclair, NJ) remind us just how many small businesses are family owned and operated. We may call them “brick and mortars,” but the reality is they’re really “hearts and souls.”

Here’s to a few million more consumer eyeballs point our way!

Editor’s note: If anyone has an inside track to one of the national morning programs, please contact me asap. We need to keep this ball rolling as fourth quarter holidays approach, and the best way to do that is to get The 3/50 Project in front of the largest consumer audience possible.

Yea Cinda! A big ‘bravo’ from one of the many independent retailers out there. Thanks SO much for the many efforts on our behalf. It’s a critical time for all of us who operate independently.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Congratulations on the CNN piece, Cinda. As founder and president of Naples Originals, 40 independent locally owned restaurants in Naples, FL, I wholeheartedly support your efforts to spread the word about the importance of supporting locally owned businesses. By working together in our marketing efforts, we’ve made a difference by encouraging people to think before they buy and to spend dollars in our locally owned establishments. Our restaurants are the soul of our community: we serve food made from locally sourced ingredients, we nurture our community’s sense of place, and, yes, we keep more of the dollars local. Mom and pops are the foundation of the U.S. economy and it is in all our best interests to see that independent businesses survive and flourish.

Thanks for the kudos, Lisa. Keep your eyes out for an upcoming addition to The 3/50 Project-—local chapters, which will allow co-branding opportunities and additional support to individual communities.

Way to go, Cinda! Thanks for being the voice for locally owned & operated businesses- we are grateful! In this economy, when many are finding retail challenging, out comes The 3/50 Project. This simple idea has the potential to revolutionize the bricks & morter entities that our communities are built on. Our customers at Ambiance, in Suwanee, GA, have gotten involved and been made more aware all because of your hard work and dedication to see this project through. You and your team deserve to be recognized by CNN- and that’s just the beginning! Congratulations!

How incredibly exciting, this is a true wave that has just started rolling. I felt goose bumps when I heard Illinois listed amongst the states that are active w/ The 3/50 Project. You keep on promoting, and we will keep on spreading this important message.

I didn’t get to watch the CNN news piece this weekend (seemed every time I was finally freed up, the time slot had passed!) So glad you posted it for us…This was AWESOME coverage and I can’t wait for the other networks to see the light and run with it! Our economy is truly greased by the millions of independent and locally owned businesses out there. Thanks for keeping us in the forefront!

Cinda,
A giant shout out and “THANK YOU” for all of your efforts supporting “mom & pop” independent brick & mortar businesses. I have been building my business since 1972. It is so refreshing to see independents working together to get the “SHOP LOCAL” message out. American retail was truly built by local independents. I am so pleased to be a part of such a great program. Please let me know if there is anything I can do in the Cleveland, OH area to help. THANKS AGAIN.
Sincerely,
Sharon Blumenthal, The Present Pro
