tervis_tumblers1My coffee gets cold too fast. Just one of the downsides to being on the phone in the morning, unable to swig it down during conversation. As a result, I’ve been on a mission the past year to find something-—anything-—that will keep my java hot for longer than 15 minutes.

Enter Tervis Tumblers (3345 Javitz).

I heard about Tervis from two verrrry enthusiastic devotees, both named Kelly, while at the Gift for Life function on Sunday. They couldn’t impress upon me enough just how much I needed to see this line. [click here to continue…]

I need this (NYIGF edition)

Of the numerous companies making drop-in organizers for briefcases and bags, this one makes the most sense. Pouchees have more structure than the simple wrap around strips, are equally light weight, and have more functional pockets/slots that actually fit things-—when it comes to cell phones, pens, lipstick, tissue, credit cards, etc., one size certainly does not fit all.

Each Pouchee has light weight hoop handles that make pulling one out of your bag a snap, unlike the wrap around styles that require two hands; also, the squared shape tucks nicely into the corners of totes and briefcases, using every inch of usable space. I can easily see women swapping these from bag to desk drawer then back to bag on a daily basis.

If you order,go for the lighter weight fabric styles; the leather Pouchees weigh more and, frankly, don’t have the color intensity I’d prefer. Bright colors will be easiest to find in the dark depths of even the deepest tote.

I need this

How many of those little corrugated cup sleeves have you tossed in the trash over the years? And if you’re like me, how many times have you reached for your Starbucks card and realized it’s in the other purse/bag/briefcase?

Hip Grips from Seattle vendor Allie Walker Designs resolves both issues with funky fabric wraps that not only hold your cup, but also hold your card. The insulated hot-or-cold cup wraps are adjustable, reversible, washable, crushable, and functional. Available in Sport, Statements, and Everyday designs, the latter of the bunch was my favorite, offering the most latitude in colors and personalities (I already know which two I want, so if someone in Minneapolis picks this up, drop me a line).

Be sure to take a peek at the gift sets of four-—they really “pop” on the shelf. Countertop displays are also available.

To contact them, call (206) 729-4988 or visit their site.
