Want to hear the latest news about The 3/50 Project? Tune into Jim Blasingame’s nationally syndicated radio show, “The Small Business Advocate” Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. Eastern time. I’ll be Jim’s guest, happy to share our message with listeners coast to coast.
If you don’t know what station to find the program on locally, you can also hear it simulcast online (http://www.smallbusinessadvocate.com/show).
For those of you on the west coast that might not be up and around at that hour, go to that same webpage to hear the replay.
Big thanks to Jim and his counterpart, Bliss Bowman, for offering the airtime. The more ears we reach out there, the better for small businesses everywhere.
On a related note, if you happen to be NYC today, swing by the Javits at 2:00 p.m. for my seminar about The 3/50 Project (room 1C02/03, lower level). It’s free to attend, but you’ll want to register online.
The folks at George Little Management are rock stars in my book. Thanks to the generosity of Patti Stracher and her staff, anyone and everyone who wants to attend The 3/50 Project Seminar on Monday can, whether they’re attending NSS/Surtex or not.
It’s free…no charge…just show up and you’re in the door.

There’s going to be at least one major news outlet there (read: national), which means a good chance a few participants in The 3/50 Project will be interviewed. Might be your shot at some pretty nice limelight!
Thanks to WREX TV (NBC) for helping get the word out about The 3/50 Project; we sure do appreciate it!
These next few days may be a bit quiet on the blog, as I cruise the aisles at NSS, meet with press in New York, and sing the praises of independent business owners at The 3/50 Project seminar on Monday. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by!
Editor’s note: For some weird reason, the video player that’s embedded above shows up sometimes, then disappears others. Has to do with the servers on WREX’s end, not ours. It’s also fluttering in and out on their site, so…who knows….?
Heads up to those of you planning to attend The 3/50 Project seminar in New York on Monday–there’s a major (and I mean MAJOR in capital letters) national print publication planning to attend. Could mean face time for those of you whose stores are participating in the Project if he’d like an interview or two, so please be sure to register asap.

This could be it, folks…the mass media exposure we’ve been hoping for.
A packed house would really make this fly, so please be sure to put it on your calendar if you’ll be in the area that day. I’ll be sharing creative ideas that businesses around the country have been working with The 3/50 Project–should be a fun session.
A big thanks to our friends in Nashville for doing such a great piece about The 3/50 Project and a couple of the participating retailers in the area. Well done!
Do you know about a television station that’s done a feature piece on The 3/50 Project? Let me know and I’ll get their video up on the blog asap.
Been wondering if your listing on The 3/50 Project website has an impact? Check out what Sioux Falls, South Dakota photographer Chris Jacob has to say on KELO-TV news. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard this…those listings work.
And just for the record-—east and west coast media types, you’re getting scooped by your midwest counterparts, big time. This is the second South Dakota t.v. station, in addition to three Minneapolis stations, and a Lincoln, Nebraska station who have featured The 3/50 Project on their news broadcasts. Whaddaya say you jump in and spread the love to the locally owned businesses in your coverage area too?
P.S. We don’t have a MySpace page, so please don’t go looking for it. Heaven knows, there’s plenty to keep up with between Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn already. You guys are keeping me on my toes!
Next up: Channel 12 features The 3/50 Project. Big thanks to The Woods gift shop in Maple Grove, Minnesota for providing such a great stage. If you haven’t been there, go. I guarantee you’ll hit your $50 without breaking a sweat, there’s so much fun stuff to choose from.
(Point of clarification: Although the reporter says $50 per store, The 3/50 Project message is $50 per month.)
Once again, it’s time for the Perspective Posse to saddle up.
According to at least one major network, “New numbers out this morning confirm this recession is getting worse,” based on a report by RealtyTrack that is “showing a 24% jump in the first quarter of the year in the number of households receiving at least one foreclosure notice.”
Now…before you feel the floor drop out, let’s look at the rest of the story, because the headline most certainly does not tell it all: [click here to continue…]
