The 3/50 Project: A success story

in Economy, Retail, The 3/50 Project

register_receipt_croppedOne of the most often asked questions during media interviews about The 3/50 Project is “Does it work?”…which is second only to “Do consumers ‘get it’?”

Yup. To both.

But hey, don’t just take my word for it. Check out this story on the Publishers Weekly website that was brought to my attention this afternoon (thank you, Meredith!), written by Josie Leavitt, co-owner of Flying Pig Bookstore in Shelburne, Vermont. Her experience mirrors what I hear from local, independent business owners, day in and day out, from coast to coast.

Bottom line? Businesses who actively promote The 3/50 Project–then back it up with great service and products–earn their way onto customers’ “What three businesses would you miss?” list. They reap the benefits of the Project…and become the businesses I don’t want to see disappear either.
