The 3/50 Project database overhaul continues

Those of you who tune into The 3/50 Project’s Facebook page know I’ve been traversing Dante’s sixth ring of hell when it comes to the Supporters database overhaul. Our lovely, viral growth outpaced the original system; new perks on the horizon make the update immediately necessary.

What’s all this mean?

If you registered as a Supporter prior to February 20, 2011
You’ll receive an email from the Project this weekend sometime between now and Tuesday morning, asking you to update your info. This is necessary since our original forms lacked information we need to better connect your business with consumers. Simple, basic, but very important stuff.

If you registered between February 20 and May 2
You won’t receive an update email, since you joined after we began using a more complete registration form. No action necessary.

If you registered between May 2 and today
Good news: Your info is complete and current, so no email will be sent.

Bad news: Your listing is stuck in limbo due to delays in development of the database (no, not because of me or my travels; this is entirely third party driven).

Good news: The split second our new, functional database is in my hands, you get processed into the system and onto our Supporter pages and your (still missing) window clings ordered.

This has been an incredibly challenging process, thick with pain and frustration. Thankfully, the development team now working on the database overhaul is banging away with determination and intent, anxious to get it finished and functional. Your ongoing patience is so very, very appreciated…

…as is all the Pepcid and Advil I’ve been popping like gumdrops for two months. This too, shall pass.

P.S. If you don’t see your listing on our site, or are wondering about your window cling, please do not post those inquiries here on the blog. Instead, visit the Contact page of The 3/50 Project website and follow the steps there. Thank you!
